Some Assembly Required: A True Story of Love and Organ Transplants Wins 2021 Caregiver Friendly Award

Today’s Caregiver is a great publication and companion website that offers very practical tips for family caregivers. I’ve been a long-time reader and sometimes share the articles with friends and family members who are navigating the daily challenges of caregiving.

This explains why I am especially honored to have been selected as a 2021 Today’s Caregiver(TM) Friendly Award Winner for my book Some Assembly Required: A True Story of Love and Organ Transplants.

The Friendly Award recognized outstanding books, media, products, and service designed with the best interest of caregivers and their loved ones in mind. Today’s Caregiver Friendly Award acknowledges winners to be among the best in their industry.

One bit of consistent feedback I’ve heard about the book is that family caregivers who have read it see themselves in it. The feelings caregiving stir up can be difficult to navigate. Readers have said it’s gratifying to know they were and are not alone and appreciate the book’s straight-talking take on the caregiver experience, which arms my heart. It would seem the judges agree.
